Having spent most of his life in institutional care, Sanetora has long been supported by an anonymous benefactor. When this mysterious patron finally offers to take him in, Sanetora is overjoyed, believing his dreams are coming true. However, the person awaiting him at his new home is not what he expected: Kanae, his foster father, is a surprisingly young man with a sharp tongue and a hidden agenda. As the head of a company, Kanae immediately puts Sanetora to work, revealing that his adoption was tied to employment from the start. To make matters more bewildering, the business is far from ordinary; it deals in strange artifacts capable of transforming their owners into monstrous beings.
