Umineko no Naku Koro ni Episode 1: Legend of the Golden Witch

Every year, the Ushiromiya family convenes at the isolated estate of their elderly patriarch, Kinzo. Although six years have passed since Battler last attended this annual gathering, the joyous reunion is quickly dampened by deteriorating weather, a foreboding warning from his youngest cousin, and an ongoing dispute among the adults over the family inheritance. Battler remains skeptical of such dark premonitions and dismisses the legends surrounding the witch who allegedly bestowed his grandfather’s vast gold fortune and is said to still haunt the mansion’s corridors. However, when a violent typhoon strands all eighteen family members and servants on the island, the horrifying events that unfold leave him profoundly shaken. As the nightmare intensifies, Battler must determine whether a desperate relative is murdering for the family wealth or if the Golden Witch is truly responsible.
