Ghost Slayers Ayashi

Every entity in existence is defined by a name. Among them are ancient, forgotten gods born from the collective prayers, fears, and desires of humanity. In Edo, a city already gripped by famine and civil unrest, these otherworldly creatures bring further turmoil to the populace. Known as the Youi, these primordial beings emerge from mountaintops and the depths of the earth to haunt the land. For nearly a quarter of a century, Yukiatsu Ryuudou has drifted across the Japanese countryside under the guise of a bodyguard, surviving as a gambler and thief while renouncing his true identity. However, a chance encounter with a Youi alongside agents from the Office of Barbarian Knowledge Enforcement compels Yukiatsu to confront the past he has long fled. In doing so, he must reawaken his hidden power of Ayagami—the ability to discern the true names of these monsters and wield them as a weapon to banish them from the mortal realm.
