In the world of Wāq Wāq, humanity faces an unrelenting assault from machines targeting those with black blood. Their only defense lies with the Sakimori, warriors who forge symbiotic partnerships with Goujin-zou, a race of machines that grow stronger by merging with human hosts. When machines attack his village, Shio and his father, Ala—a seasoned Sakimori—are thrust into battle. Though Ala falls in combat, he entrusts Shio with two sacred duties: to become the new Sakimori and to protect a mysterious young girl believed to be a goddess, discovered amidst the chaos of war.
