However, he fails to solve the mystery and loses his research direction entirely, especially as academia has already moved on from Mega Evolution to Terastallization. At this critical juncture, his memories awaken and a system binds to him, revealing that his starter’s issue is genetic and directing him toward gene research. After two years of painstaking work cultivating Pea Plants to publish his theory, Giovanni comes knocking. Professor Oak praises Dr. Xia Ye for pioneering the field of genetics, highlighting his latest breakthrough where genetic supplementation allowed a Garchomp to learn Dragon Dance. Meanwhile, Giovanni laments ever letting Xia Ye lead the Mewtwo Project, as even the Neo Team Rocket has crumbled because of him, shattering his ideals.
