Immortal in the Tang Dynasty

He also crosses paths with legendary painters, palace eunuchs, imperial consorts, and the emperor himself. Standing atop the clouds, he observes their history unfold as a detached witness. Wandering through the mortal realm as an immortal, he remains a solitary figure beyond the reach of worldly affairs. As the verses of the Tang poetry foretell: "Rainbows for robes and wind for steeds, the lords of clouds descend in throngs," and "The immortal strokes my brow, granting eternal life from youth."
