I Cultivate in the Xuanjian World—by Bluffing

One moment, Shang Chunbei is dozing off in literature class; the next, he opens his eyes to find himself in the perilous Xuanjian world. His new life starts with a hoe in hand, tilling fields and narrowly escaping being devoured by monsters at every turn. After barely scraping by, he manages to join a small monastery of the Compassionate Way, hoping for safety—only to discover that his own master and the hidden Mahā within his body are both testing him constantly. With no real power to rely on, he survives by sheer intimidation and bluffing, making vague threats and dropping ominous hints until everyone around him becomes convinced that he has a terrifying backer. As his legend grows, even his enemies start whispering, “He must have a great protector behind him!” and “Thank goodness—with that backer, I’m saved!” Yet the more he deceives others, the more Shang Chunbei begins to wonder: after all these lies, could it be that he really does have a mysterious benefactor watching over him?
