Haibane Renmei

In a world where winged beings known as Haibane live alongside the wingless, Rakka awakens from her cocoon with no memories, only the sensation of falling. She is welcomed into the Old Home, a community of Haibane on the outskirts of the quiet town of Grie, where they reside with small gray wings and bright halos. Governed by strict rules, the Haibane are forbidden from approaching or touching the massive walls surrounding the town, a privilege reserved for the enigmatic Toga. As Rakka navigates her new life, she grapples with doubts and unanswered questions, striving to uncover the truth about her existence and the world she inhabits. With the ultimate goal of reaching beyond the walls on her Day of Flight, Rakka must confront the challenges and mysteries of her world, all while facing the risk of being branded as Sin-bound should she fail.
