Hikaru no Go

Hikaru Shindo, a 12-year-old sixth-grader, discovers a centuries-old Go board in his grandfather's attic, which leads to a series of extraordinary events. Upon touching the board, he is possessed by the spirit of Fujiwara no Sai, a renowned Go player who took his own life and has been lingering in the mortal realm. Sai's spirit has been searching for a worthy opponent to play Go with, driven by the desire to achieve his ultimate goal: "The Hand of God," a perfect game that he believes will bring him peace. As Hikaru becomes increasingly obsessed with Go, he finds himself entwined in a world of ancient board games, complex strategies, and intense rivalry. With Sai's guidance, Hikaru's skills rapidly improve, and he becomes a force to be reckoned with in the Go world. As the stakes rise, Hikaru must navigate the intricate web of relationships and rivalries that surround the game, all while struggling to come to terms with his unique connection to Sai and the true nature of the spirit's presence in his life.
