In a world where fate and souls are intricately linked, an odd-couple team of Sakurai and Amano is tasked with dealing with the problems caused by tainted souls that pollute their environs. These souls, which arise from untimely deaths, draw in more souls, creating a vicious circle of ill fate. As part of their mission, they must prevent individuals from meeting an early demise or collect their "livingstones" before the souls cause further damage.
