After being transported back to the 1970s, Shen Qingyi finds herself stranded in a remote mountain area, where she takes on the role of a guardian. Meanwhile, Chen Shijie, who has been living off money sent by Shen Qingyi's family, grows increasingly wary of her presence and begins plotting against her. His schemes, however, backfire and land him in prison, where he pleads for her forgiveness. Shen Qingyi remains resolute, insisting that forgiveness is for the merciful, while her duty is to see him held accountable.
