Meng Xuanzhe's transmigration into the body of the Crown Prince of Later Shu was met with an ominous forecast: the impending downfall of his adopted kingdom. A mere three years stood between the present and the invasion of Shu by the Song army, an event that would seal the fate of the kingdom and relegate its former ruler to a mere footnote in the annals of history. The consequences of this conquest would be far-reaching, ultimately leading to the loss of the Yan and Yun regions and centuries of turmoil along the northern borders of the Han dynasty. Yet, despite this looming catastrophe, the royal court remained oblivious, indulging in festivities and music, while the city at large believed itself to be at peace. Meng Xuanzhe's indignation, however, was not solely directed at the external threat, but also at the internal decay that had taken hold of the kingdom. The stark contrast between the kingdom's abundant resources and the suffering of its people, the ineptitude of its military, and the court's willful ignorance of the impending disaster all served to fuel his outrage. With this newfound awareness, Meng Xuanzhe resolved to take action, starting with the kingdom of Later Shu, and forge a different path, one that would alter the course of history.
