Secrets of the Ming Dynasty 1

This book traces the history of the Ming Dynasty, beginning with Zhu Yuanzhang’s rise from modest origins and following the power struggles and military campaigns that marked the dynasty’s founding. It covers Zhu Yuanzhang’s conflict with Chen Youliang, including the battles at Taihe and the decisive clash at Lake Tai, as well as the strategies he used to defeat his rival Zhang Shicheng. The narrative also follows generals such as Xu Da and Chang Yuchun in their campaigns against the Northern Yuan, which secured key victories and expanded the empire’s borders. The latter part of the book examines the Jingnan Rebellion, in which the Yongle Emperor seized the throne, and the subsequent disappearance of the Jianwen Emperor. The account presents these events through a detailed historical narrative.
