In a world shrouded in mystery, a masked hero named Hakuoro emerges, his past and true identity unknown even to himself. After being gravely injured and left for dead in a forest, he is rescued by a kind young girl named Eruruu, who nurses him back to health. As he recovers, Hakuoro finds himself in a barren land plagued by strange creatures, an angry god seeking vengeance, and an oppressive government that slaughters the innocent. With a bloody war looming on the horizon, Hakuoro must come to terms with his uncertain future and the expectations of the people who have chosen him as their leader.
