China Entertainment: Equipment Broker

Traveling back to 2016, Chen Zhuo found himself as an entry-level intern at Yongle Film & Television. Originally an earnest, cautious college student whose only goal was to graduate smoothly, a sudden fall during a business trip caused him to be reborn into his graduation year—this time bound to the "Entertainment Equipment System." Through this system, items imbued with intense emotions or massive public attention grant him unique attributes and skills. An unreleased photograph marked with a fresh lipstick print unlocks "Self-Admiring Red Lips," granting him the power of emotional insight within a five-meter radius. With no one able to lie in his presence, he begins maneuvering the industry: deflecting a PR crisis for Meng Ziyi by pushing a washed-up Korean star onto the trending searches, and steering Gulinazha toward an unbacked sci-fi project titled The Wandering Earth when she lacks a defining role. Meanwhile, Dilraba rises amid controversy, and Tian Xiwei is still preparing for her art school exams. More than a mere talent agent, Chen Zhuo operates as a behind-the-scenes puppet master and the industry's most unconventional equipment player. Practicing pre-emptive strikes against adversaries while staying detached in his personal relationships, he turns himself into the defining rule of showbiz while others are still scrambling for connections and resources.
