I Am Taizong of the Sui Dynasty

In the eleventh year of the Kaihuang era, the imperial court is rife with hypocrisy, fickleness, and suspicion. The ambitious Prince Yang Guang schemes relentlessly to seize the throne, while civil officials navigate treacherous politics with caution to ensure their survival, and brave but straightforward generals face tragic ends despite their valor. Though the Sui Dynasty unified the north and south only two years prior and the dawn of a golden age appears imminent, dangerous undercurrents already stir beneath the surface. The Turkic Khaganate remains fractured, awaiting a powerful ruler to reunify it; the Tuyuhun repeatedly raid the Hexi Corridor; and Goguryeo offers nominal submission while harboring sinister intentions. Amidst this turmoil, a soul from the modern world quietly awakens within the Eastern Palace. As Crown Prince Yang Yong rises to become Emperor Taizong of Sui, he alters the dynasty’s fate, averting its premature collapse after merely two generations. Under his reign, ministers and generals break free from past constraints to build an era of unprecedented prosperity, the people live with pride and abundance, and the Great Sui commands the respect of all nations across the four seas.
