From collapsing rooftop to poverty alleviation village chief

Following the sudden collapse of his career at the height of his fame, former top star Lin Ye stunned the entertainment world by passing the civil service exam, terminating his contract, and heading into the remote countryside to take up poverty alleviation work. The internet erupted overnight. "Poverty alleviation? Lin Ye? Don't make me laugh!" one netizen jeered, while another scoffed, "If Lin Ye can actually lift a village out of poverty, I'll call him dad!" The villagers of Qiongyu Village offered no warmer welcome. Eyeing the polished pretty boy who had walked into their midst, they sneered at his chances, and one old farmer even vowed to slaughter his beloved old hen if Lin Ye lasted more than a week. Yet against every prediction, Lin Ye dug in his heels and stayed. Quirky livestream sales, cooking up pig feed, swiping sugarcane from the fields, foraging for wild mushrooms—one fresh, down-to-earth idea after another sent Qiongyu Village trending across the nation. Then came the true transformation: sprawling blueberry plantations, a natural spring water plant, and a 4A-rated karst cave scenic area rose one after another, turning a destitute backwater into a flourishing, prosperous village. The trolls who had laughed loudest now sheepishly cried "Dad!"—while the villagers proudly hailed him as none other than Village Chief Lin.
