Double

Takara Takarada drifts through everyday life in a absentminded haze, yet the moment he steps beneath the stage lights he transforms completely, vanishing into every role he is given. Audiences are left stunned by one unforgettable performance after another—an undiscovered genius hidden within an unremarkable young man. But this brilliance has a single key: Yuujin Kamoshima, Takara's dearest friend and fellow actor, the one person capable of drawing his talent to the surface. Their partnership is a complicated one. Yuujin looks after Takara with genuine devotion, yet beneath that care simmers a quiet envy of the effortless gift his friend was born with. Together, the two of them can breathe life into any character; apart, something essential is lost. Everything changes when Takara is scouted away from their small, scrappy theater troupe and pulled into the entirely different world of television. For the first time, he must stand on his own, without the friend whose guidance has always unlocked his genius. And Yuujin must confront a question of his own—what becomes of the man left behind?
