Fushigi Yûgi: Byakko Senki

In 1923 Japan, young Suzuno Ohsugi lives beneath her father's strange and solemn warning: she must never touch a mysterious volume known as The Universe of the Four Gods, a book he insists is meant for men alone. Yet Takao Ohsugi guards a deeper knowledge. He understands that the ancient tome requires one final heroine to set its story in motion—and that his own daughter is destined to become that figure, the Priestess of Byakko. Then disaster strikes. The Great Kanto Earthquake violently reshapes the world around them, and Suzuno and her father find themselves trapped inside their home as flames close in. With no path of escape remaining, Takao faces an agonizing truth: the only way to save his daughter's life is to send her into the very book he forbade her to touch, into the world of The Universe of the Four Gods itself.
