Downfall

In the world of professional manga, nothing matters except moving copies off the shelves. For one struggling artist, that merciless reality has just crashed down in full force: his debut serialization has come to an end, and he now finds himself staring at a blank future with no idea how—or what—to draw next. The collapse extends far beyond the drawing desk. His marriage is quietly unraveling, and the pure, unfiltered love of manga that once fueled his pen has been steadily crushed by the industry's cold commercial grind. In its place lies a gnawing emptiness, a hollow inside him that nothing—neither work nor daily life—seems able to fill. Yet he clings to a single desperate hope: if he can only discover the elusive formula behind a new hit series, everything will mend itself. The sales will return, the void will close, and his broken life will finally make sense again. Won't it?
