Kiss Players

As 2006 begins, Earth finds itself entirely free of Transformers for the first time, and the arduous reconstruction of Tokyo is underway. Yet the consequences of Galvatron's final impact prove far greater than anyone foresaw: the enormous blast propelled his Unicron-empowered cells into the planet's atmosphere, scattering them across the globe. Wherever these cells made contact with living creatures or machinery—be it marine life or automobiles—they merged with their hosts, giving rise to a horde of nightmarish hybrid monsters known collectively as the Legion. Paradoxically, the very disaster that spawned the Legion also handed humanity the means to fight back. Human beings exposed to Galvatron's cells developed the power to fuse with any other entity carrying them through the act of a kiss—a phenomenon designated the "ParasiTech" fusion process. Because the Autoroopers proved to be ideal partners for this technique, the Earth Defense Command (EDC) set about recruiting and training a special corps of "Kiss Players," organizing them into combat squads charged with defending the world against the Legion's rampage.
