Kodai Senshi Haniwatt

At Zenkō-ji Temple in Nagano, a colossal dogū—an earthen figurine from Japan’s Jōmon period—suddenly manifests and wreaks havoc across the city. This savage, otherworldly war god proves unstoppable by any conventional means. The only force capable of standing against it is the ancient ceramic warrior Haniwatt. To counter the threat, the government’s clandestine anti-dogūun agency must carry out a time-honored summoning rite, enabling its agent to assume the form of Haniwatt and halt the devastation. A somber, methodically unfolding tale, this work draws inspiration from Shōwa-era tokusatsu classics like *Kamen Rider* and *Godzilla*, while grounding its monstrous adversaries in genuine archaeological artifacts.
