American Exorcist: From the Sewers

Transmigrated into the heart of Los Angeles, Luo Yang starts at rock bottom—a "sewer rat" surviving on scraps and salvage beneath the city streets. After the death of the godfather who once gave him shelter, a desperate, near-fatal brawl awakens the within him. Armed with its power, he begins hunting fiends, passing judgment on the unholy, and clawing his way back from the abyss one kill at a time. For a long while, Luo Yang believes he is the only exorcist in this city—until he crosses paths with Cyprian. A grizzled old man weighed down by secrets, prone to belching and snoring in his sleep, and carrying the improbable title of occult consultant for the FBI, Cyprian extends a hand with a simple offer: "A wild exorcist, eh? How about teaming up? Do some freelance work on the side..." Luo Yang looks at the nightmare that devours souls and memories, then at the black imps burrowing into human hosts as parasites. He takes a long, hard three-second pause. "You call this freelance?" "Don't you dare compare me to Constantine."
