Neruma Isami—better known simply as Neru—has dedicated himself to a solitary discipline: martial arts training guided by nothing more than a single book left behind by his grandfather, himself a lifelong martial artist. With middle school drawing to a close, Neru finds himself standing at a crossroads, adrift and uncertain, with no clear vision of what his future should be. Everything changes when he crosses paths with Akebi Haiba, a mysterious martial artist whose arrival upends his quiet, routine-bound existence. Under her guidance, Neru is led to a high school unlike any other—a place where the toughest young fighters have assembled, all gathered under one roof to test their strength against one another.
