Across Time and Space: I Am No Savior

In the year 3055, China becomes the first nation to master time-travel technology. Zhou Xiaoyi is sent on a state-sanctioned mission to ancient China, where he discovers that two of history's most pivotal figures—Wang Mang and Liu Xiu—never actually existed. Both were entirely forged through his own interventions across separate timelines. His first attempt follows a top-down approach: he seeks out the worthiest sage, elevates Wang Mang, and replaces the sitting emperor to place him in power. Yet no matter whom he installs, this strategy is fated to crumble. When that timeline collapses, the state authorizes a second crossing. This time, Zhou Xiaoyi backs Liu Xiu with a bottom-up strategy—overthrowing the old regime, tearing it down completely, and reshuffling the order to build a new dynasty from the ashes. The Wang Mang arc moves at a brisk, condensed pace, while the Liu Xiu arc unfolds slowly with rich, meticulous detail—a narrative contrast rooted in the theory from Space Overlay and Time Travel Without Paradox (fourteen chapters, zero plot holes). Every ancient figure is portrayed faithfully according to historical records, tracing Wang Mang's gradual and believable moral descent, stripping away the mists of legend to expose the raw truth of history.
