This Director Loves Making Friends

Qin Keqing claims to have three great passions: directing, cameo appearances, and making friends. The outside world believes him without question, given his exceptional cinematic eye that consistently produces films exceeding expectations, his habit of appearing in countless productions, and his sky-high connections. From Hong Kong to mainland China, through Europe’s artistic circles, and even among Hollywood moguls, industry titans call him brother. Yet, Qin Keqing’s inner truth is different: directing is merely his livelihood, cameos are stepping stones, but “making friends” is his true core skill. Reborn into the 1990s with knowledge of future scripts, Qin understands that in the entertainment industry, talent determines one’s baseline, while relationships determine the ceiling. Using unique social tactics, he weaves a vast and tight-knit network. Whether they are domineering film tycoons or stunningly beautiful actresses, all become his so-called “close friends.” When crises strike or opportunities arise, these are not superficial acquaintances but loyal allies who genuinely step up when needed. “Director Qin’s business is my business!” Witness how the protagonist leverages the art of friendship to move the entire film industry.
