Kokumin Quiz

In an alternate reality where Japan stands as the world's sole superpower, a television phenomenon known as the National Quiz airs every night. Contestants—driven by dreams of wealth, celebrity, vengeance, or personal fulfillment—risk everything for a single, all-powerful prize: the granting of any wish they desire. Yet the show’s power cuts both ways; defeat does not merely mean losing, but plunges the loser into an unimaginable personal hell. At the heart of this world is K-i K-ichi, designated prisoner KK47331. Once an actor, then a failed contestant, he has since risen to become the show’s wildly popular host—and this is the story of his life, along with the people and events that surround him.
