Butsu Zone

From the visionary mind behind *Shaman King*, Hiroyuki Takei delivers a spiritual action saga centered on divine duty and earthly mystery. The story follows Sennju, a formidable emissary of the bodhisattva Kannon, who descends to the human realm bearing the legendary Thousand-Arms Armor. His sacred mission is clear: locate and safeguard the reincarnated soul of the future buddha Mirokou, a task that carries the weight of cosmic balance. Yet, the modern world proves to be a chaotic and cynical place, hardly prepared for the arrival of a celestial warrior clad in ancient relics. Sennju’s entrance is anything but subtle. He materializes on Earth just as a young girl finds herself cornered by a gang of brutish thugs, their menacing intentions leaving her with no escape. Without hesitation, the emissary intervenes, unleashing a display of otherworldly power that scatters her assailants and leaves the girl staring in bewildered awe. But the rescue is only the beginning of a much larger enigma. Who is this seemingly ordinary child, and why does fate place her at the heart of a prophecy spanning eons? As the emissary reveals his divine origins, he is met with a far more human obstacle—convincing his charge that he is truly an envoy of Kannon, sent not from a distant land, but from the heavens themselves. Navigating a fragile bridge between the sacred and the skeptical, Sennju must earn the girl's trust while shielding her from unknown forces that would threaten her existence. This pilot installment of *Butsu Zone* intertwines with Takei's broader narrative universe, sharing thematic echoes with his works *Death Zero* and *Itako no Anna*, as it sets the stage for a gripping collision of faith, destiny, and the enduring struggle to protect a fragile hope in a world blind to the divine.
