Mythological News Forecast

Terminally ill Du Wang accidentally stumbles upon a bizarre news website. Instead of ordinary reports, it publishes prophecies about immortals, mythical creatures, and fiendish calamities descending upon the mortal world: "A three-legged corpse crow appears in the city center, warding off all evil—auspicious for those who witness it!" "A ghost will manifest on the late-night bus in the Liberation District—ominous hexagram, beware your eyes!" "A white crane crying blood and sky-rending anomalies appear in Zhengyang District—likely an immortal's dojo emerging. Great peril!" Du Wang initially dismisses the site as a prank—until the three-legged corpse crow materializes before his very eyes and chooses him. The crow grants its chosen one the power to command ghosts and stave off death. From that moment, his quiet life shatters. Not only do ancient demons and monsters from classical texts invade everyday reality in rapid succession, but the old gods and immortals—venerated for millennia and believed to exist only in legend—also reveal themselves to humanity in grotesque, eerie, and terrifying forms. Human society teeters on the brink of collapse. In the hour of crisis, Du Wang stands atop a skyscraper. Behind him, the gold-and-silver shadow of the corpse crow blots out the sky, bending the heavens and eclipsing all radiance. As myriad sinister apparitions surge toward him, he declares with solemn authority, his voice carrying the weight of divine decree: "From this day forth, heaven and earth shall be severed!"
