Ring My Bell

When major publisher offers rising talent Mai Sohn a contract to create a relationship-focused webcomic, it feels like the breakthrough she has been working toward her entire career. There is just one problem: her girlfriend has just walked out on her without warning, leaving Mai adrift in the wreckage of a breakup she never saw coming. Tasked with writing convincingly about love while nursing a freshly shattered heart, she finds herself trapped in a cruel irony—how can she craft believable romance when she cannot even recognize her own? Desperate for inspiration and running out of time, Mai must navigate the messy aftermath of heartbreak while searching for something—anything—that might rekindle her faith in connection. Complicating matters is her enigmatic neighbor, whose behavior oscillates between friendly warmth and inexplicable awkwardness. Is the woman simply uncomfortable with Mai's sexuality, or is there something else beneath those furtive glances and sudden silences? As deadlines loom and her personal life unravels, Mai discovers that finding the right story might mean confronting the most complicated relationship of all: the one she has with herself.
