Bloody+Mary

Mary has earned the nickname "Bloody," yet nothing about him fits the image of a typical vampire. Sunlight leaves him unscathed, mirrors hold his reflection, and he refuses to touch blood altogether. What he desires most is something far stranger: his own death, and he will go to any length to obtain it. His hopes rest on Maria, a seventeen-year-old who balances life as an ordinary student with his duties as a priest. Mary approaches him with an extraordinary plea—asking the boy to kill him. To Mary's dismay, however, the request lands on deaf ears of a sort: despite his calling, Maria has no idea how to destroy a vampire in the first place. Unwilling to give up on his one chance at ending his eternal existence, Mary strikes an unusual bargain. He agrees to serve as Maria's bodyguard, protecting the young priest from harm, until the day Maria finally discovers the means to grant him the death he so desperately craves.
