Ballad x Opera

Touma Haruto is the sole survivor of a devastating arson attack, a tragedy that left him with no memories of his past or his family. His fragile existence takes an unexpected turn when he is accidentally killed by a celestial mishap. An angel, attempting to strike a crow, hurls his devil companion—who had been disguised as a cat—only for the projectile to fatally hit Haruto instead. Now deceased, Haruto discovers that he cannot pass on to Heaven and faces the grim prospect of wandering the Earth as a lost ghost forever. The careless angel and devil are subsequently punished for their actions and ordered to serve as shinigami in order to earn their return to Heaven. Realizing they owe Haruto a profound debt, the unlikely pair presents him with a life-altering proposition: if he agrees to work alongside them as a shinigami, he will be granted the opportunity to recover his lost memories of his family and eventually ascend to the afterlife. Driven by the desperate hope of reclaiming his forgotten past, Haruto accepts their offer, stepping into a supernatural role that binds his fate to the very beings who ended his mortal life.
