In the remote mountain town of Hinamizawa, a bus stop stands at the edge of the village, where two high school girls, Rika and Mion, visit. The dam construction in Hinamizawa and the dark legend of "Oyashiro-sama" that haunts the area are intertwined with twisted relationships and a sense of impending tragedy. This manga is an adaptation of the unreleased stage play "Hinamizawa Teiryūjo" written by Ryukishi07, which later became the basis for the Higurashi no Naku Koro ni game, anime, and live-action franchise.
