TOKYO Hikari Auction

In a world where human beings are put up for sale, Sengoku finds himself standing on the auction block—a fate as humiliating as it is bleak. An inveterate gambler who has squandered his luck at every table, Sengoku lacks the dazzling looks that command high prices in this merciless marketplace. He is no pretty boy; he is flawed merchandise, and everyone present knows it. To his owner, Sengoku has long since stopped being a person and become nothing more than inventory—a botched acquisition that simply will not move. Unable to shoulder the burden a moment longer, the owner makes a choice born of sheer desperation: Sengoku will go to the highest bidder, no matter how pitiful that bid may be. The winning offer turns out to be a laughable two yen—a sum so insignificant it amounts to giving him away for free. What was meant to be an auction becomes an outright disposal. Cast off like a losing hand of cards, Sengoku passes into the hands of a stranger, and the gambler who lost everything must now discover what fate deals him next.
