Ari to Hachi

At forty-six, Tamura is a man of modest means—a middle school graduate who drifts between odd jobs, working at his own unhurried pace. Yet his unremarkable days are redeemed each evening by the quiet warmth of home: a beautiful wife, a handsome son now stepping into adulthood, and a fluffy, tail-wagging dog that greets him at the door. In that simple, unflashy routine, Tamura finds a fulfillment deeper than any paycheck could buy. But that ordinary smile masks a second, bloodstained face. Tamura is also a supremely skilled assassin, a ghost whose lethal precision has made him invaluable to a shadowy organization. For years, he has kept his two worlds apart—until his son's coming-of-age awakens a fierce longing to leave the killing behind. Resolved to wash his hands of the business, Tamura approaches his boss with a plea for freedom. The answer is a blade's edge: a single, unforgiving condition—one final, high-stakes contract that will test every ounce of his deadly expertise. Failure means not only his own ruin but the exposure of the family he treasures above all. Now the ultimate assassin papa must navigate a labyrinth of old loyalties and new fears, knowing that this last job may be the one that truly breaks him.
