Nami no Shijima no Horizont

For Riku, an elementary school boy whose world revolves around the simple, unyielding rules of football, life is a straightforward game—until a wistful sea breeze carries in a new kind of turbulence. In his quiet coastal town, the rhythm of practice and recess is abruptly interrupted by Yori, a high school girl whose composed exterior does little to mask the enigma that clings to her every step. She is more than just a fleeting presence from the older generation; she is the former girlfriend of Riku's older brother, a fact that ties her to a part of his family he never quite understood. Caught between the playground and the precipice of adolescence, Riku finds himself drawn to Yori's mystery, his usual confidence on the field faltering in the face of her secret-laden silence. Every encounter with her is laced with the scent of salt and the whisper of waves, transforming ordinary afternoons into moments of profound, confusing discovery. She carries a world of experiences he cannot access, yet she looks at him with an unreadable expression that makes him feel seen for the first time. This is a delicate portrait of first love, filtered through the raw, pre-adolescent perspective of a boy standing at the edge of adulthood. As the horizon merges with the endless sea, Riku must navigate the turbulent waters of his own heart, learning that the most powerful bonds are often forged in the quiet, unresolved spaces between childhood and the future.
