The Hopeless Desire of a Witch

When a benevolent count offers to adopt young Kaidel into a life of nobility, the orphaned boy agrees on one condition: he must follow the “ember” and track down the witch responsible for burning his village to the ground. Raised within a family of alchemists and trained as a skilled fighter, Kaidel sets out on his quest to find the white-haired witch. But when he finally comes face-to-face with a woman whose flowing white hair matches the description, she is nothing like the monster from his memories—kind, gentle, and far removed from the rumors spread by terrified villagers. Could this sweet Eleanor truly be the same witch from his nightmares? Torn between love and vengeance, Kaidel must decide which path to follow.
