Memories

This seminal collection brings together fourteen short works from a master storyteller, spanning science fiction, dark fantasy, and surrealist drama. Ranging from the claustrophobic psychological thriller of the title piece—in which a space salvage crew is haunted by a derelict ship's mesmerizing audiovisual trap—to the bleak, harrowing anti-war parable of "Farewell to Weapons," where human soldiers are systematically outmatched by autonomous war machines, the anthology showcases an extraordinary breadth of tone and vision. Interwoven are speculative gems such as the post-apocalyptic jazz odyssey "Sound of Sand," the cybernetic noir of "Electric Bird Land," and the sprawling planetary chronicle of "Wakusei TAKO Nendaiki," alongside playful yet incisive reinterpretations of classic myths in the "That's Amazing World" series. Through gritty dystopias, eerie space horrors, and poignant human vignettes, the collection interrogates the fragile line between memory and illusion, the cost of technological hubris, and the enduring absurdity of conflict, cementing its status as a landmark of avant-garde manga.
