The Legend of Mother Sarah

Humanity’s final refuge lies within space colonies orbiting a planet rendered toxic generations ago. When a devastating terrorist attack shatters their sanctuary, the colonists are forced to abandon their orbital home and descend to the ruined Earth below. Amid the chaos of the evacuation, a young mother named Sarah is tragically torn from her children. Cast into a desolate and unforgiving world, she faces a bleak future fraught with uncertainty. Yet, driven by an unbreakable maternal bond, Sarah refuses to surrender, embarking on a relentless journey across the wasteland to reunite with her lost family. Katsuhiro Otomo, celebrated for exploring the darkest corners of the human psyche in Domu and the corrupting nature of absolute power in Akira, turns his visionary storytelling toward a profoundly different theme: the enduring strength of hope. The Legend of Mother Sarah stands as a testament to this resilience, transforming a harrowing tale of survival into a deeply moving exploration of love and determination against impossible odds. This edition collects all eight issues of the acclaimed series, preserving one of the most compelling narratives ever crafted in manga.
