Getting Along

In a world defined by extraordinary gifts, the protagonist wields an ability that defies the common hierarchy of power. He is a "Zero," possessing the unique and absolute capacity to nullify any supernatural skill, rendering the most formidable talents utterly inert. However, this power, which makes him the ultimate countermeasure, also carries a devastating social stigma. His very existence is perceived as a threat by the superhuman community, as his presence inadvertently neutralizes the abilities of his allies. This isolation has instilled in him a deep-seated loneliness and a profound sense of otherness, compelling him to constantly restrain his abilities and remain on the fringes of society. His plight catches the attention of the covert organization "Antikythera," who approach him with an offer of purpose and belonging. They see his potential not as a danger, but as their ultimate weapon. Tasked with becoming the organization’s "Zero," he is trained to eliminate the powers of rogue individuals, finally finding a semblance of acceptance. Yet, this newfound hope is shattered when his employers reevaluate the implications of his existence. Recognizing the unparalleled threat he poses to their own operatives and the entire power structure, Antikythera deems him too dangerous to be left free. In a cruel twist of fate, the protagonist discovers that his quest for acceptance has only confirmed their deepest fears, leaving him to face a chilling new reality: his salvation has become his sentence, and he is now slated for permanent confinement.
