xxxHOLiC: AnotherHOLiC

Kimihiro Watanuki never imagined that stumbling upon the enigmatic wish-granting shop of Yûko Ichihara would change his life. Beautiful yet unsettling, Yûko solemnly promises to banish the spirits that plague Kimihiro, but her assistance comes at a steep price: daily afternoon chores at her establishment. The initial excitement quickly fades as Kimihiro realizes his payment plan bears a disturbing resemblance to eternal indentured servitude. Nevertheless, he perseveres, bracing himself for the myriad of supernatural adventures that await. His first task appears deceptively trivial, even by Yûko’s eccentric standards: procuring a pair of fake eyeglasses. However, the assignment takes a dark turn when Kimihiro witnesses a woman throw herself into traffic, revealing that the power of perception can be a double-edged sword. Later, when a classmate seeks help deciphering text messages from beyond the grave, Kimihiro eagerly assumes the role of detective. Yet, he must rely on Yûko’s insight to determine whether the mystery stems from otherworldly forces, human deceit, or murder. Just as Kimihiro begins to accept his unusual circumstances, he is confronted by a stranger who claims to dispel his darkest fears. This mysterious figure denounces Yûko as a fraud and offers Kimihiro both an escape from his preternatural bondage and a substantial fortune. Faced with this tempting proposition, Kimihiro finds himself more bewildered than ever before.
