Onoda Haruichi has devoted his youth to mathematics, keeping others at arm's length in pursuit of a single ambition: representing Japan at the International Mathematical Olympiad. On the first day of the new school year, a fellow math enthusiast named Nanase Mami calls out to him with a simple question: "Do you like math?" Through the connections he builds with others who share his passion, his once-solitary days begin to take on new color. Though they are often told their dreams are foolhardy, these young men and women confront themselves honestly, push past their limits, and steadily broaden their horizons. This is the story of those who love mathematics—ordinary students daring to step onto a stage reserved for geniuses, in the sincere and fervent world of the Olympiad.
