Chinese Entertainment 2000

At the dawn of the new millennium, the Mandarin pop music scene erupts into a chaotic war of rising gods. Headlines scream of a Hong Kong teen idol's fall from grace due to a car accident scandal, while a new power structure emerges—"Double Week, One Sun"—dividing the Chinese music world. At the center stands Zhou Yi, a gifted mainland prodigy hailed as the leader of a new era. Alongside him, a northern rival fuels an intensifying "Southern Zhou vs. Northern Zhou" battle for the crown of the new generation. Fresh from mastering Cantonese and honing his skills on the basketball court, Zhou Yi flips through the newspapers handed to him by his agent. He deliberately skips over the gossip columns about his charm enchanting starlets across the strait, and instead stares at the relentless rivalry headlines. One question lingers in his mind: has he just started his career by throwing down the gauntlet directly at the King of Mandopop himself?
