Summary

Raw Details
In an era where ancient arts have faded and new professional systems dominate the land, regional exclusivity defines one’s identity. Each province has developed unique classes tied to its geography and culture: Scouts from the Central Plains, Hammerers from the Northwest, Confucian Clerics from Qilu, Star Mages from Jiangnan, and Berserk Knights from Wuling. Since individuals can only awaken classes native to their home province, a person’s occupation instantly reveals their origin. During an intense interrogation, the inquisitor confronts Zhang Jue with contradictory evidence. Although Zhang claims to be a native of Jiangnan, he is caught reciting Confucian prayers, a skill exclusive to Qilu. When pressed, he casually claims his grandmother was from Qilu, making him half-Qilu. The inquisitor then points out his mastery of the Northwest’s hammer techniques, to which Zhang replies that he is also half-Northwest. Further accused of using Central Plains daggers, he sighs and admits to being a Central Plains native as well. Finally, the inquisitor slams the table, enraged by Zhang’s ultimate transgression: the use of Old Magic. Zhang straightens his posture with solemn dignity, arguing that as a descendant of Yan and Huang, it is only natural to study traditional arts rather than foreign innovations, adding that becoming a Sword Immortal in his spare time is hardly unusual. Despite his witty deflections, the authorities refuse to accept his excuses, branding him a notorious thief of magic and sealing his fate.
