*Gensou Shounen Koimonogatari* is a collection of classic fairy tales reimagined with a yaoi sensibility. The volume brings together seven distinct stories: "Beauty and the Beast," "Glass Pen (Penderella)," "Fox and the Monk," "Con Artist and the Thief," "My Treasure," "Snow White" (followed by its conclusion), and "Wish Come True." The opening tale, "Beauty and the Beast," follows a premise reminiscent of the familiar Disney version, yet with a notable divergence. A man with two daughters and a strikingly beautiful youngest son, named Belle, sets out for town on business. He remembers to procure gifts for his daughters, but neglects to bring anything for his son. On his return, he chances upon an extraordinary rose and plucks it to present to Belle. At that moment, a fearsome beast appears and issues an ultimatum: to spare his life, the man must deliver his youngest son to the castle. Left with no alternative, the father reluctantly pleads with Belle to go in his stead. The question remains—will Belle actually journey to the castle?
