The Great Yokai War: Guardians

Beneath Japan's soil, something ancient and malevolent lies waiting. When a powerful earthquake disturbs fossils that have slumbered for untold ages, the evil yokai spirits bound within them tear free—manifesting as gigantic monsters that now rampage relentlessly toward Tokyo. As the colossal creatures close in on the city, salvation rests on a single, improbable hope: one small, unassuming boy. Watanabe appears to be an utterly ordinary elementary school student, yet he carries a legacy he never knew existed. Unbeknownst to him, he is the descendant of a long line of legendary monster hunters, and through that bloodline he inherits their extraordinary power. Thrust into a battle far beyond his years, this unlikely young heir must now rise to confront the monstrous horde bearing down on his nation's capital. A manga adaptation of the 2021 film of the same name, The Great Yokai War: Guardians weaves an epic adventure of courage, destiny, and awakened legacy, as the only person capable of halting the yokai onslaught finally answers the call.
