The Misfit of the Martial World

Tamrang, a Joseon military officer known as Anhamuin, once served as an elite guard warrior within the Chinese imperial palace. At the heart of a court rife with secret battles and assassination plots, he utilized the Balbon Saekwon to root out traitors, forging himself into the emperor’s sharpest sword. Yet, despite his unparalleled influence, Tamrang chose to abandon the center of power. When the emperor ordered his return to Joseon, he instead received baffling news: the most formidable force in the palace had voluntarily stepped away to become a humble border messenger. Even the emperor was stunned that such a man would willingly enter a minor state. The place Tamrang chose was Ewha Pyo-guk. To the outside world, it appeared to be an ordinary small-to-medium escort agency, but his presence transformed its very nature. Transporting goods became a matter of navigating rival factions, and even minor requests rippled into tensions felt across the entire martial arts community. This shift truly begins with the marriage incident involving Paeng Yerin, daughter of the Paeng family. Refusing a political marriage arranged for her clan's benefit, she decides to petition the emperor directly and asks Tamrang to escort her. Fleeing pursuit down treacherous mountain paths, the two share a brief but intense journey. Though Tamrang maintains his stoic composure, protecting her personal choice rather than serving power or calculation leaves an inexplicable mark on his life.
