Osananajimi ni Najimitai

Fujimino Daisuke spent his childhood as the perennial target of Hino Matsuri’s spirited, rough-and-tumble affections. As the quintessential tomboy who never shied away from a scuffle or a teasing remark, Matsuri kept Daisuke perpetually off-balance, their friendship forged in the crucible of her relentless push-and-pull. Years apart, however, have a way of rewriting expectations, and when their paths cross once again on a bustling college campus, Daisuke is struck by an undeniable truth: the girl who once wrestled him into submission has blossomed into a strikingly lovely young woman, her features softened by time into something unexpectedly graceful. Yet, as Daisuke quickly discovers, beauty is only skin deep. To his mounting dismay, the intervening years have done little to temper the core of Matsuri’s irrepressible spirit. Beneath that polished exterior still beats the heart of the same boisterous, headstrong girl who delighted in bossing him around; her laughter still rings with that familiar, mischievous edge, and her competitive fire ignites at the slightest provocation. While Daisuke finds himself drawn to the woman she has become, he is equally exasperated by the ghost of the childhood tormentor she remains. Trapped between the lingering echoes of their chaotic past and the tantalizing promise of a very different future, Daisuke must navigate a bewildering new dynamic—one where the girl who once made his life difficult now makes his heart race for entirely different reasons, even as she continues to drive him up the wall.
