Aesthetica of a Rogue Hero

In a world where interdimensional displacement has become almost commonplace, teenagers frequently find themselves spirited away to fantastical realms, only to return home forever changed. To manage this growing phenomenon, the international organization BABEL was established—a specialized institution dedicated to helping these "returnees" harness and control the supernatural abilities they acquired during their otherworldly sojourns. Among its latest intake are Akatsuki and Miu Ousawa, two young individuals who have just come back from the perilous world of Alayzard. On the surface, they present themselves as siblings navigating their new academic life, but their shared history is far more complicated than a simple family bond. Beneath the facade of brotherhood lies a tangled truth: Akatsuki and Miu share no blood relation. Miu carries a legacy that could shake the very foundations of their new environment, as she is the daughter of Alayzard’s fearsome Demon King—a lineage that marks her with immense, untamed power and an unsettling destiny. In stark contrast, Akatsuki faces a dilemma that defies the very purpose of BABEL’s existence: unlike every other returnee, he possesses no magic whatsoever. This glaring anomaly makes him an outlier in a system built entirely around supernatural aptitude, forcing him to rely on sheer wit, physical prowess, and an unyielding will to protect his surrogate sister. As the two navigate the treacherous corridors of BABEL, they must confront the lingering shadows of Alayzard while hiding their true relationship from prying eyes. With Miu’s monstrous heritage threatening to surface and Akatsuki’s complete lack of magical ability rendering him an enigma among his peers, their integration into this new world becomes a precarious balancing act. Caught between bureaucratic scrutiny and the ever-present danger of their past catching up to them, the rogue hero and the demon king's daughter must carve out their own path—whether the establishment is ready for them or not.
