His Majesty's Secret Heroine

Named for the joyful dawn, Lokheun’s existence was meant to be one of light and promise. That hope shatters when her mother is brutally slain and her father, consumed by vengeance, carries out his retribution and is forced to become a fugitive. Desperate to absolve him and bring him home, Lokheun binds her fate to the newly ascended Emperor Garyun—a charismatic ruler determined to dismantle the bloody legacy left by his predecessor. Yet, in a twist of mistaken identity, Garyun perceives Lokheun not as a young woman, but as a gifted boy, and he resolves to forge her into a peerless martial prodigy, no matter how brutal the crucible. What follows is a grueling odyssey of endurance, as Garyun drives his supposed protégé through hellish training, testing both her body and her spirit. Their dynamic is fraught with tension—she is his disciple in name, yet carries a secret that could unravel everything. Beneath the emperor’s stern exterior and relentless expectations, however, an unexpected bond begins to take root. As Lokheun navigates the perilous politics of the court and the unforgiving path laid before her, she finds herself fighting for more than just her father's pardon. In Garyun, she begins to glimpse a future beyond survival—a chance to reclaim the happiness her name once promised and to finally shape a life worthy of the morning she was named after.
